How to Assemble Cabinets
If you're remodeling your kitchen or your bathroom, cabinets are included in almost every re-design. Whether you're a DIYer or just interested in the processes of home remodels, this guide will help you assemble cabinets now and in your future remodels!
Tools You'll Need
Cabinets - Cabinet Hardware - Power Drill - Rubber mallet - Carpet
Step 1: Forming the Bottom of the Cabinet
Unbox the materials and lay them out in an organized way so you can move about easily.
Start with the Faceplate, if it comes with a door assemble that after the cabinet is build; if it is already on, keep it face down on your soft tarp or carpet. Determine top from bottom and place the faceplate, face down.
Start by mounting on the first sidewall and screwing it in, repeat this process for the second side to create 3 sides.
If your sides are installed correctly, the bottom plate should slide in to place using the grooves on the sidewalls.
After you install your bottom shelves, move on to installing the Toe Kicks. Face the non-painted side with the pre-drilled holes to the inside of the cabinet.
Step 2: Moving to the Top
Once you've completed Step 1, you've officially completed the bottom of the cabinet.
Flip the cabinet around, get the two long/narrow pieces with paint on both sides, and slide them into place using the grooves in the side wall. After you've installed those, move onto the backplate.
The thin portion fits to the bottom of your cabinet and the thicker portion goes to the top. Match the backplate to the grooves of the top, bottom, and sides.
Step 3: Securing with Screws
Now that you've gotten your cabinet's grooves lined up and sitting together, you're ready to start securing your cabinet with its screws.
Make sure your cabinet backplate is fit together snuggly using pressure, then drill them in tightly with the largest screws that were included in the kit.
Now that the backplate is secure, take the wooden triangles provided, and screw them into each corner of the top of the cabinet.
Step 4: Building your Drawers
Stand your Cabinet right-side up and begin mounting your gliders for the drawers.
Start by taking the two clips that come with your materials and insert them on the backside panel of the cabinet into the pre-drilled holes.
Next, take the the glider and make sure that the metal plate facing the side panel and match the pre-drilled holes to each other. Once you have the holes matched up, screw them in.
Then, you'll build the drawer. These are held together through wood joints that you secure together by lining them up and tapping together with a rubber mallet. Face the drawer face down and fit the drawer sides.
Place the bottom of the drawer in between the two sides you just placed, using the grooves to guide the bottom in. Place the polished side so it is on the INSIDE of the drawer.
To add the backside of the drawer, line the grooves up, and tap together with a mallet.
Step 5: Adding the Drawer & Door
Now that the drawer is built, add the connection points for the glide rail. Line these up on the bottom of the drawer, at the back end in both corners. Screw these pieces into the corners where the pre-drilled holes have been place.
Then, slide in your drawer all the way, until you hear two clicks. The two clicks ensure the cabinet is locked into the glider.
To add your Cabinet Door, simply match the holes on the hinges with the pre-drilled holes on the cabinet wall and screw them in to secure the door.
After you've added your door your cabinet is officially assembled, Congratulations!!
