How to Install Kitchen Cabinets
Installing your own kitchen cabinets can be a big task, especially if you don't know where to start or even how to communicate with your contractor. Here, you will learn about Installing Cabinets for your Kitchen Remodel.
Measurements & Materials
Firstly, you need your measurements and design/layout so you can buy the appropriately sized materials. This is a crucial step in the process as measuring incorrectly can cause costly delays down the road. Check out our Free Kitchen Measurement Guide.
Once You have your Measurements, you're ready pick out your cabinets for your new kitchen!
Getting Ready to Install
The first step to install your new kitchen cabinets is finding the highest point on your floor. This is another vital step, because every part of the cabinet installation relies on this reference point. It's safe to assume that your Kitchen DOES have a high point, so take your time locating it.
Once you've found the high spot on the floor, your next step will be to mark the Tops of your Base Cabinets. Begin from the High Point of the Floor and measure up to the Height of your Base Cabinets.
Next, you'll mark the Bottom of your Wall Cabinets, allowing space for your countertop and the distance between cabinet and countertop; generally 19 1/2 inches.
Finally, find the studs in your wall and mark them so you can line up the screws in your cabinet mounts. Using a stud will ensure the most secure cabinet.
Installing Your Kitchen Cabinets
Start your installation in a corner to accurately line up the remaining cabinets. Remove the cabinet doors and drawers, line up the cabinet to your studs, and screw them in. 
Line up your remaining cabinets and secure them to the studs as well. Make sure your mounts are secure, then add your drawers, shelves, and doors back to your cabinets and enjoy!
DIY or Contractor?
There are many Homeowners that do DIY Kitchen Cabinet Installation, though it is considered an Advanced installation. Learning how to install cabinets can be difficult from scratch, that's why we recommend going with a contractor unless you're an experienced DIYer with the right tools.
