Follow this Guide to measure your layout so you can build your perfect kitchen

Tools You'll Need
Measuring Tape Paper or Notebook Pen or Pencil
Step 1: Your Basic Layout
Start by drawing out a Basic Layout of your kitchen in your notebook using a pen or pencil. Keep it simple, there's no need to get highly detailed, this is purely to get measurements to fit your cabinets.
Step 2: Taking The Measurements
Start by taking the measurements of the wall length. Measure from one end of the wall to the other end; including the space where your cabinets and appliances will go.
Next measure the height of the kitchen from the lowest point in the ceiling to the floor, to avoid any ill-fitting cabinets.
Then measure your window's length, plus the edge of the window to the nearest corner wall.
Measure your sink by starting at the center of your sink and going to the nearest corner wall. This will ensure your plumbing fits inside of the cabinets.
A commonly missed measurement is the vent hood. Make sure you include these measurements to fit the hood inside the cabinet. Start at the center of the vent hood and go to the nearest corner wall.
Note where your appliances will go within you kitchen layout and include the sizes of your dishwasher, stove, and refrigerator in your drawing.
If you've got an island, make sure to let us know. Measure the length and depth and include any overhang there might be in your notes.
